With the Draft just 4 days away, I wanted to look at the potential trades we could see on day 1 or the first round of the draft. These are all teams which could trade UP for a QB, with options if they don’t.

New Orleans Saints - Pick 28

If I am the New Orleans Saints I don’t know how confident I would be with Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill as your quarterback options.  make a trade with the Miami Dolphins. New Orleans would sent 1.28; 3.99; a 2022 2nd round pick and a 2022 5th round pick. Miami has all the interest to trade back, but would trading back to 28 be worth it?

Washington Football Team - Pick 19

Washington signed Ryan Fitzpatrick to a 1 year deal, which is obviously a stop gap. Tyler Heinecke and Kyle Allen are not likely long term projected starters, so Washington could be in a good position to jump up from 1.19. It’s possible WFT could settle in on a 2nd round guy like Kellen Mond, David Stills, or Kyle Trask which I have them doing in my latest Mock Draft

Who would be the trade partner and who would be the pick? It would be a lottery for the trade up for Justin Fields, Trey Lance, or Mac Jones, if any of them are available.

New England Patriots - Pick 15

In my latest mock draft I have the Patriots trading up to spot 7 with the Detroit Lions. Of any teams, this is the most likely considering Cam Newton and Jarrett Stidham are not the long term future of the Patriots. I don’t expect the Patriots to trade up with Denver considering a conference rival, and Miami would be a division rival.

Denver Broncos - Pick 9

Denver could trade up with a team like Miami, Detroit, or Cincinnat if they are not convinced that Drew Lock is their future, and that one of the top 5 QB’s are. Moving from 9 overall would not take all that much, but if there are multiple teams contacting the team that is on the clock, the asking price might be a bidding war.

Denver has a new GM so this might be interesting how this plays out. Based on competition, its likely the Broncos would only have Atlanta, Carolina, and Detroit to trade up with, but Atlanta doesn’t seem like they are moving out of 4.
